First 100 VIP Pass $100

The First 100 supporters of the Ely Film Festival get benefits beyond Festival tickets and fun festival swag. We will have a live event just for the First 100 this fall in Ely, NV. Dates and details coming soon for this event.  This additional support is critical to our educational outreach to schools, clubs and libraries in Eastern Nevada.

2021 Ely Film Festival Schedule

VIRTUAL WEEKEND PROGRAM

FRIDAY – MARCH 12TH, 2021

5:30-6:00pm: Opening Celebration: Virtual Cocktail Party

Attendees will be sent the recipe for our signature drink “Starry night”. On-line participation via Facebook and a Zoom event with chat rooms. Participants will be eligible to win tickets for next year through a drawing.

6:00-7:30pm: Feature Presentation: Spirit of Nevada

Samantha Chian and David Purdy, host and producers of the television show, Spirit of Nevada, share their episodes and experiences of visiting the people and places in Ely and the surrounding area.

SATURDAY – MARCH 13TH, 2021

2:00-3:30pm: 2nd Annual Short Film Contest

You’ll have a front row seat as the judges announce the winners and show this year’s locally produced short films.

4:30-5:30pm: Panel Discussion: Film Editing and Location

Film industry professionals discuss how important film editing is to the final product and how Ely is an important location for their work. A live moderated Q&A will follow.

7:00-9:30pm: Feature Film and World Premiere Presentation: Horror in the High Desert

Introduction by local filmmaker Dutch Marich, a post-screening conversation with Dutch and cast, followed by a live moderated Q&A.

SUNDAY – MARCH 14TH, 2021

10:00-11:00am: Nevada Northern Railway Retrospective

Celebrate the movies, advertisements and music videos that have been filmed at Ely’s historic and iconic location.

11:15am–12:30pm: Presentation: Elvis, Marilyn, and Space Aliens

Robin Holabird, author, critic and former Deputy Director of the Nevada Film Commission gives us the inside scoop on films made in Nevada.

2:30-4:00pm: Encore Presentation: Horror in the High Desert
